Slacker!
Well apparently FTP publishing no longer exists on blogger.com, this seems a bit crazy. I guess they must have been some kind of credential/security based concern.
So I guess my blog will be updated on this new URL.

There’s been a lot of progress made since my last blog, in life in general and in my profession. Yes I have slacked significantly.
I wont go over the top, so in a nice list based round up, this is what I have learn’t recently;
–Computer Related
VPN – creation, management and this included changing a whole office network IP range.
DOS – been plagued with attacks and had to work out how to stop them, I even learnt how to do them, to a point, even do some testing (network resource monitoring) myself using backtrack on a linux vm based OS!
Set up and configured a VM: running windows server 2003 for a complete testing environment.
iLo – configured and utilised HP’s light out utility to avoid server downtime!
Solidworks – My Solidworks skill are significantly better, I really have taken on more advanced modelling in the last 2 years and feel I am at least 150% more confident.
AutoCAD – I learnt how to convert 2D into 3D!
NAS – Set up and configured multiple drives.
DNS – I configured a DNS server.
C# – I am always learning this at work, but I feel I am at a stage now that I can pretty much debug most problems, even when highly complex.
VHS to mpeg – Yes I can do the conversion, I’ve only got around 14 hours of mpeg video to edit now and put on DVDs!
Broadcasted a Radio station – I know its cheating but I used winamp and shoutcast, it actually took longer to configure Kaspersky for this one!
Got a smart Phone – I therefore got smarter when asked to support them!
A+ Essentials Certification – I have been practising some mock tests and have managed to pass them all, I just need to save some money to book the actual exam!
–Non Computer Related
Car – I know how to change a wheel, check fluid levels, take off a bumper, affix a front grill, replace lights and bulbs and drive safety for over 2 years.
Home – Moved house, done a lot of heavy lifting and a lot of cleaning!
Sleep – did not do much of that and that should probably be a priority!
Running – I have already done 2x 10km and a half marathon this year, with another 2 x 10km to come (all at PB times of course!).
Well that seems like a lot of things but there really just the ones at forefront of my mind, lets say I have been busy!
I like to be useful 🙂
