Job!

Well it all been a bit too long since I last posted, so much has happened!

Firstly I would like to take this opportunity to say WOOOOOO!
I got a web design job as part of a group (Aloco). Who do web and IT support for manufacturing companies, based in Welwyn Garden City, I have been working here for 2 months now, my time has gone extremely fast!

I have developed my SEO skills somewhat and now have experience in implementing W3C standards as well as developing for the web, understanding the philosophy that is Google and using web analytics to optimize sites for indexing using various techniques including adsense.

AutoCAD 2009, was one of the major packages I have had to pick up from scratch, now been using it for approximately three weeks and beginning to get down to the nitty gritty finer aspects of product drawings, recently been drawing in isometric views with some confidence, one particular drawing I did took me the best part of a day!

I have been fortunate enough to be put on a course using .NET, which has further progressed my skills using visual studio and particularly helping me use XML and C#.

I have finally begun to use Illustrator properly having previously been afraid of path tools, I actually think that was down to a lack of direction from my University! Its been nice to get glimpses of design work, which I enjoy the most. Been working with PDF’s and also a little in In Design.

This week I have been primarily been using Flash and having to stick with ActionScript 2, Its good to spend some time in the package and learn what I should already know! Deadlines for the new site we are designing have been pushed back due to some health problems in our team and I’ve been given more responsibility due to that. We should be pushing out the website maybe as soon this weekend!

I have seen CS4 being pushed out, I’m very tempted to install it! Especially with annoying crashes in Photoshop, Ill give Photoshop and Dreaweaver a critique when I get a chance!

I wrote my first XML sitemap from scratch the other day and also used definition lists to start a glossary on technical electric terms… lets say I had to learn them as I went!

I just installed the new tvversity and hope this will actually work, last few times Ive had codec playback issues!

Anyway thats all for now folks
Peace
Ant
